Welcome to the Wynnstay! Four words spoken in greeting for two centuries in this little corner of Paradise. Guardians now of this great tradition are the Johns brothers, Gareth and Paul, with their team of staff always pleased to welcome you and do everything possible to guarantee the happiest of stays. There is a cosy lounge and bar that serves real aleAll bedrooms, some with four-poster beds, are individually styled with modern en-suite bathroom facilities, remote control colour TV, and room service at specified times. The Wynnstay is an ideal base for golf in Wales with a local course in Machynlleth, the Aberdovey, Borth and Ynyslas links all only 15 minutes drive from the hotel, and the Royal St. David's Golf Club at Harlech only an hours drive. The links at Aberdovey and Borth at the mouth of the River Dyfi estuary are almost close enough to hit a ball from one side of the estuary to the other but by car it is necessary to drive up one side of the estuary then down the other.
The Romans called it 'Maglona', to us it's 'Mach"- a vibrant lively little Welsh market town of some two thousand souls that Sir Watcyn Williams-Wynne chose as the site for his little 'Pied -a-Terre' that is now known as The Wynnstay, or to give it it's full title, The Wynnstay, Herbert Arms and Unicorn Hotel!!
