• Hotel Information and Facilities

The Wynnstay Hotel was originally built in 1780 as Sir Watkin Williams Wynn's town house, and served as a coaching inn on the Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury route.  It was from our Front Balcony, that the Prime Minister, Mr. David Lloyd George, one of the 20th Century's political greats, viewed the processions of the Urdd Eisteddfod in 1932 and the National Eisteddfod in 1937.  The Wynnstay Hotel is set in the heart of the historic market town of Machynlleth, the ancient capital of Wales - where, in 1404, Owain Glyndwr was crowned Prince of Wales and had his parliament.

The individuality of the hotel reflects the independence of the spirit that characterises the area.

An attractive award winning restaurant serving the very best of local dishes and our cosy bar and lounge make a visit to the Wynnstay an absolute must.
