This rambling, Georgian building was once the coaching inn for the Shrewsbury Stage. It was described by The Sunday Times as "a bit of a Tardis", being actually much more spacious than at first appears, yet retaining an essential intimacy. It has long been a place for the weary traveller to rest. As the main hotel in the centre of town, The Wynnstay is a major social centre, a place to meet old friends and to make new ones.
Singles, standard doubles & twins, family rooms and superior/four-poster bedrooms are available. All rooms have modern, en suite bathroom facilities,
remote control colour television, hair-drier and tea & coffee making facilities.
Family rooms are available; reduced rates for children, cots are provided at no charge.
Disabled access to ground floor. Being an 18th Century Inn, wheel chair access to upper floors is difficult and not practical.
Well behaved dogs are accepted by arrangement.
There is provision for cycle lock up and the bike shop close by can help with any running repairs.
Non smoking areas are provided in the bar and lounges. The restaurant is non-smoking.
